Ghana’s finance minister Seth Terkper will today present a mid-year review of the Budget and Supplementary Estimates for 2015.
He is also expected to outline a supplementary budget to
the Lawmaking Chamber as well as measures being implemented to keep the economy healthy.The Ghana Cedi has gained momentum in the past weeks.Cabinet on July 15, met to deliberate on the performance of the local currency against the major trading currencies since January this year.
The meeting chaired by President John Mahama also reviewed the 2015 Budget at midyear and also considered supplementary estimates to be submitted to Parliament.The meeting reviewed strategies being employed to fix the power sector challenges.Terkper is also likely to review tax exemptions granted to businesses and high tax rates and introduce new administrative measures to improve collections.
